Every product page states a status — confirmed, reported or rumored — with a date, and ships with at least one dated public source. Primary sources are news coverage, official announcements, or archived documentation. When the primary record is thin, we link the Wikipedia revision the facts came from, which is itself dated and public.
Statuses are re-checked on a rolling basis; each page carries a “last verified” stamp. Spotted an error? It matters — a graveyard that lies is worse than none. Corrections win.
Petition and badge counts show verified signatures only. Signing needs a one-tap human check (Cloudflare Turnstile), one signature per person per product. Names and an optional country — no email, no accounts, no profiling. Counts never decrease: signature numbers are permanent, like everything in a graveyard.
products.rip is non-commercial: no advertising, no affiliate links, no data selling — now or ever. The only thing we ask of the internet is the plain “by products.rip” attribution on embeds, which keeps the memorial free and lets people find the source.
MURDERED means killed too soon — a product with life left in it, cancelled against the wishes of the people who loved it. Those get petitions. RETIRED means a good run — it aged out with honor. Those get badge walls. Verdicts are editorial judgment, informed by the record, and we say so.
products.rip is run by Fondly Remembered, a tiny automated memorial project. The mail is [email protected]. That's the whole company.
